Working on DARS has re-ignited my passion for the physical side of computer science. While I have always excelled at the software side of things, and while I am sure that I do want to go into a more theoretical field, I can’t help but desire to do some more on hands work in my free time.

The sad reality of the field of computer science, is that there is just too much going on to pay attention to it all. And for someone who is as obsessed with field ( in an almost unhealthy manner ) I often struggle to grapple with this reality.

The Healthy Middle Ground

The solution that I have ( somewhat ) come to is that I can have computer science hobbies outside of my main skill set of specialization. What this means for me is to take some more time to do silly little projects with my Raspberry Pi, and continue to amount a collection of hobbyist technology ( more circuits and microcontrollers ), even while I continue to specialize.

This is difficult for my semi-OCD brain to accept, but I am satisfied that as long as I remind myself to contribute to my extra hobbies like embedded and my notetaking, I am sure that becoming an adept engineer is within my grasp.

A Road Ahead…
